I will work on the quantity, but trust GOD for the quality.

CASSANDRA CLARE SERIES

CITY OF BONES – The Mortal Instruments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

Clary finds out she’s a magical ninja with a deadbeat demon-hunting mom. She meets a blond boy with more trauma than sense, and they fall in love—right before thinking they might be siblings. Vampires, werewolves, demons, and confusing family trees abound.

CITY OF ASHES – The Mortal Instruments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.11

Clary still won’t follow directions, Jace is brooding so hard he might implode, and Simon is turned into a vampire by accident. Valentine is cosplaying as the Dark Lord with an evil aquarium. Things go downhill, but with great hair and maximum sass.

CITY OF GLASS – The Mortal Instruments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.27

The squad takes a road trip to a city that contains zero glass. Jace is emotionally constipated, Clary creates new runes like she’s hacking life, and Simon becomes a vampire with a sparkly upgrade. Also, surprise—no one’s siblings after all. Phew?

CLOCKWORK ANGEL – The Infernal Devices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

Tessa moves to London and ends up caught in a love triangle between a cinnamon roll (Jem) and a human disaster (Will). Also there’s automatons, dark magic, and endless tea. Bonus: shadowhunting in corsets.

CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS – The Mortal Instruments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

You’d think after saving the world, people would chill. But no. Jace is possessed, Simon is dating two girls and also dodging vampire politics, and everyone’s still allergic to healthy communication. Evil rises again—because obviously.

CLOCKWORK PRINCE – The Infernal Devices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

Will is still dramatic. Jem is still too good for this world. Tessa is still confused. Everyone is in love, but no one communicates. Someone gets slapped. Possibly a demon. Also there’s a robot army and an engagement of questionable timing.

CITY OF LOST SOULS – The Mortal Instruments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

Jace is now Evil™ with an evil boyfriend (Sebastian), and Clary follows him into enemy territory like it’s a romantic getaway. Simon carries everyone emotionally while also being hunted for his Daylighter blood. Everything is cursed. Including this romance.

CLOCKWORK PRINCESS – The Infernal Devices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

Hope you brought tissues. People die. People marry. People un-die in the epilogue??? Will plays the violin about his feelings. Jem breaks everyone’s heart with just one line. Honestly, this is just 500 pages of beautiful emotional destruction.

THE SHADOW HUNTER’S CODEX – Novella

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray has at last found safety with the Shadowhunters. But that safety proves fleeting when rogue forces in the Clave plot to see her protector, Charlotte, replaced as head of the Institute. If Charlotte loses her position, Tessa will be out on the street—and easy prey for the mysterious Magister, who wants to use Tessa’s powers for his own dark ends.

CITY OF HEAVENLY FIRE – The Mortal Instuments

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

Demon armies! Death! Angst! Haircuts! Clary becomes a warrior goddess, Jace sets things on fire (intentionally), and everything explodes—both literally and emotionally. Half the cast dies, the other half is traumatized. A+ finale with a side of pain.

THE BANE CHRONICLES – Novella

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

Love, blood, betrayal and revenge – the stakes are higher than ever in the fourth book in the bestselling “Mortal Instruments” sequence. The Mortal War is over and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York excited about all the possibilities before her. She’s training to become a Shadowhunter and – most importantly of all – she can finally call Jace her boyfriend. But nothing comes without a price.

TALES FROM THE SHADOWHUNTER ACADEMY – Novella

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

LADY MIDNIGHT – The Dark Artifices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

Emma is a sword-wielding badass with trust issues. Julian is a full-time dad at 17 with repressed everything. They fight crime and their feelings (unsuccessfully). Also, murder mysteries, sea demons, and too many kids named after Roman emperors.

LORD OF SHADOWS – The Dark Artifices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

Everyone’s in love with someone they shouldn’t be. Political drama and sea battles occur. A magical library is used for flirting. The ending is so traumatic, readers needed three to five business days to recover. Or longer.

QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS – THe Dark Artifices

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

The book starts in mourning and ends with dimensional travel and demon realms. Emma turns into a giant sword monster (yes, really), and Julian breaks every rule in existence for love. You’ll cry, cheer, and shout “WHAT” at least six times.

THE RED SCROLLS OF MAGIC – The Eldest Curses

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them…

GHOSTS OF THE SHADOW MARKET – Novella

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

Love, blood, betrayal and revenge – the stakes are higher than ever in the fourth book in the bestselling “Mortal Instruments” sequence. The Mortal War is over and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York excited about all the possibilities before her. CHAIN OF GOLD- The Last Hours

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

New generation, same Shadowhunter problems. Cordelia is a queen with a sword. James is in love with a ghost (??), and Lucie wants to resurrect people like it’s NBD. There’s a demon infestation and so much yearning. Everyone is beautiful and emotionally broken.

THE LOST BOOK OF THE WHITE – The Eldest Curses

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.31

The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. CHAIN OF IRON – The Last Hours

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.07

James and Cordelia get fake-married (spoiler: one of them is not pretending). There’s a serial killer on the loose, but everyone’s more concerned with who’s secretly in love with whom. Ghosts, guilt, and garden angst levels reach critical mass.

CHAIN OF THORNS – The Last Hours

STAR RATING BY GOODREADS: 4.42

Everything falls apart. Love triangles become tangled messes. Friendships are tested. Swords are swung. Herondales fail to use words like always. The ending hits like an emotional freight train—but with
